LERA’s role is not to promise, by itself, that machines can never replace humans. Its role is to place human judgment, authority, responsibility, and rules structurally before machine capability crosses into execution.
When LERA is reasonably applied together with rigorous law, social governance, sustained intergenerational education, and continuing human common governance, it can help prevent the structural path by which machine systems gain execution power by default and displace human civilization. The key is not merely to name LERA, but to keep the judgment and governance required by LERA standing before execution over time, across institutions, and across generations.
The key point is that LERA changes the default path from machine capability to real-world action.
